Math Club has sessions (one in fall, and one in spring). The fall Math Club sessions begins in October. They have two separate classes, one for 4th graders and one for 5th graders. Math Club will be on Tuesdays from 7:30-8:15 a.m. 

Each week we will give a Mathleague.com test to the students. Each test takes 30 minutes and has 30 questions (from previous Mathleague.com tests). In the first 10-15 minutes we will solve some of the previous week's questions. In May, we will have the Mathleague.com's 4th grade and 5th grade official tests. They will be open to all Faria 4th and 5th grade students so even if your kid doesn't attend the Math Club, they can take the test. 

Mathleague.org organizes a number of elementary school contests that are held throughout the school year. The contests are structured in such a way that students will find the tests good preparation for other elementary and middle school math contests. Top-scoring students at qualifying meets held throughout the year are invited to compete at their state's championship in late April or early May, and winners of the state championships are invited to the national championship in June. 

Mathleague.org is similar to the MATHCOUNT competition for middle school. It has 3 levels of competition: regional, state, national. If your kid is planning to attend mathleague.org competitions this year, please send email to fariamathclub00@gmail.com so we can create Faria teams. This is different from Math Club. It is a much harder Math competition. You can get more info from www.mathleague.org 

In 2017, Faria students did very well in both the state and national math competitions.
